15 October 1851 ---- 11 December 1922

Viola Woodard was born Oct. 15, 1851 in Tioga County, Pa. In 1858 she, with her parents, moved to Dunn County, Wis., where she remained until 1869, when she moved to Wright county, Iowa. She was married to Edward Dignan, April 29, 1874, and went to live near Troy Center. Seven children were born: John Belknap, deceased; May Frandsen of Eagle Grove; John of Reno, Nev.; Mrs. C. F. Young of Cooperstown, N.D.; Philip, deceased, Mrs. Frances Newburn of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Leslie Clifton of Webster City, Ia.

Mrs. Dignan has been in poor health for the past five years, three of which have been spent in bed and two of them have been spent in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frandsen.

Mr. Dignan died in October, 1913. Mrs. Dignan was a member of the King’s Daughters. She passed away Dec. 11, 1922, being 71 years, 1 month, and 20 days of age.

Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Frandsen on Wednesday at 2:30. The sermon was preached by Rev. W. G. Muhleman.
