Orpha M. Proctor died Wednesday, November 7, 2002, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, at the age of 88.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Roberta Michalson, cousin Maurice Thompson, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; sister, Marie Strachan; and brother, Ervin Michalson.

Orpha Michalson was born August 26, 1913, at Vincent, Iowa. She attended school in Newark Township, graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1933 and the University of Northern Iowa with a teaching degree. After teaching in Humboldt County, Iowa, she moved to Denver, Colo., where she was united in marriage to Frederick Proctor. They established their home in Guilderland, N. Y., where she taught for many years. They retired in Surfside Beach, S. C.

Memorial services were held at Myrtle Beach, S. C.

Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
