Edith Mae Kiley was born on October 20, 1928, at Kanawha, Iowa, to Clark and Viola J. Babcock Kiley. She received her education in the rural school system near Kanawha. After her schooling, she helped her father on the farm and in the Kiley Feed Store in Renwick. On November 16, 1949, she was married to John "Jack" Pohlman at Eagle Grove, Iowa. The couple lived in Renwick, Iowa, where she worked at various jobs. In 1965, they moved to Eagle Grove where she worked at ASGRO Seed Company. She retired in 1993. Her husband died on August 18, 1994.

Edith M. Pohlman died Thursday, December 21, 2000, at her home in Eagle Grove at the age of 72. She is survived by her children, Etta Pohlman, Darwin Pohlman, Dean Pohlman, Teresa Olson, and husband, Rick, and Clayton Pohlman, and wife, Lori, all of Eagle Grove, and Gary Pohlman and wife, Daenette, Fort Dodge, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo Kiley, and wife, Marol, Toliette, Mont.; and one sister, Jean Ann Grebner, and husband, Vernon, Renwick, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Glen and Wayne Kiley.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Renwick with the Reverend Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial was held in Elmwood Cemetery in Rural Renwick. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick was in charge of arrangements.
