HAMPTON U. I. STUDENT VICTIM OF INFLUENZA
Hampton, Ia.. Oct. 11. Funeral services were held here Tuesday afternoon for Bernard Wallace, who died at Iowa City Sunday of influenza. On Sept. 27, with many others, he volunteered in the student army training corps at Iowa City, and had only just begun his training when fatally stricken. He was born at Belmond May 28, 1901. From Belmond his parents moved to Oacoma. S. D., where he attended school until 1914, when he entered the Hampton high school and graduated with the class last June. He united with the Baptist church here three years ago. He is survived by his parents, two sisters and other relatives.
