November 11, 1874 --- June 19, 1961

Lars R. Johnson was born in Humboldt county, son of Rier and Kari Johnson and died at his farm home Monday, June 19, 1961. He attended public schools in Humboldt county. His Christian training was under the ministry of Rev. Holm. Lars was a life long farmer in this area until his retirement.

As a young man he was active in community affairs. In World War I he received a government award for his work with the Liberty Bond Drive. And in World War II he received a government award for work done in food production. He was a member of the Masonic order.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John R. and Carl L. Johnson, two sisters Tillie Smith and Rose Johnson.

He is survived by his sisters, Leva Johnson of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Frank (Cora) Abraham of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Carl (Anna) Hoveland of Humboldt.

Also by two nephews Arthur Smith and Curtis Johnson of Eagle Grove; two nieces Mrs. J. C. Morrison of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Mrs. Ralph. Wollenhaupt of Fontanelle, two grand nieces and three grand nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kastler Funeral Home, Pastor Jordan T. Jacobsen officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery of Eagle Grove.
