Former president of Iowa Medical Association dies

John Kenefick, 89, of Algona died of a heart ailment there Friday. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Algona, with burial at Calvary Cemetery there. Dr. Kenefick was a retired physician and was a past president of the Iowa Medical Association. He is survived by his wife, Audra; two sons, Thomas of Des Moines and Michael of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Ann Kenefick of Algona; two sisters, Thelma Kenefick of Eagle Grove and Veronica Doeneke of Lancaster, Pa.; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Geilenfeld-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Algona.
