October 26, 1912 --- October 23, 1986

Florence O. Norem, 73, of Normal, Ill., formerly of Thor and Des Moines, died of a heart ailment Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington, Ill. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ullensvang East Cemetery in Thor. Mrs. Norem was born in Thor, Ia., and lived in the Des Moines area most of her life. She was a teacher for Des Moines Public Schools before her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bloomington, Ill.

Survivors include two sons, Roger and Dale, both of Normal; a brother, Irvin Opheim of Humboldt; a sister, Bernice Burns of Hampton; and four grandchildren. Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington, Ill., is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
