Mrs. Harry Brown of Eagle Grove and Clarion died in Stockton, Calif., Sunday. The remains are being shipped here for burial, but at the present time, plans are incomplete. Friends desiring particulars as to the date and hour of service may inquire at the Wilson Chapel.

Mrs. Edith Marie Brown, daughter of Lewis and Ida Range, was born at O’Neill, Nebraska, April 5, 1886 and passed away at a hospital in Stockton, California on January 4, 1948. Mrs. Brown’s parents lived in Eagle Grove, Iowa for some time and then moved to Kimball, South Dakota. From Kimball, South Dakota Mrs. Brown went to Elmore, Minnesota where she was employed in the M. E. Munson Real Estate office. On February 21, 1906 she was united in marriage to Harry Leonard Brown. To this union five children were born; a daughter who died in infancy, Lyman Brown of Webster City, Iowa, Julian Brown of Stockton, California, Robert Brown of Santa Monica, California and Jacqueline McDonald of Marysville, California. She leaves to mourn her passing her children and six grandchildren, Douglas, Phillip, Benjamin, Martha Ann and David Brown and Frances Marie McDonald. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter and one grandchild.

Mrs. Brown has been in ill heath for the past few years. She underwent a serious operation and suffered several stokes.

The departed was a kind and loving mother. She had great concern for her children and did everything she could for the home. She worked hard and loved her family dearly. She will be missed by loved ones and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10, 1948 at the George Brown home at 1:30 p.m. and at Wilson’s Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Rev. H. C. Bakken officiated. Interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Severson and Jennie Jacobson of Jewell, Mrs. F. H. Brien of St. Charles, Illinois and Mrs. A. E. Weber of Clarion.
