Alice June Kvale was born June 7, 1918, the daughter of Sigvart and Selma Askvig Kvale at Goldfield. She attended rural Goldfield school and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1936.

She was united in marriage to Gudmund Aukland of Goldfield March 3, 1940, at the Holmes Lutheran Church, Holmes. They remained in the Thor area where the couple farmed until their retirement in 1975.

Alice Aukland died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack April 24, 1988, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Gudmund; two sons, Robert, Humboldt; and Olan, Thor; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Marilyn) Howard, Endicott, N. Y.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of the Rebekah Circle at the Thor Lutheran Church, Christian Women's Club, A.L.C.W., Equality Club, and the Senior Citizens Center.

Funeral services were held April 27, at 2 p.m. at the Thor Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Sersland officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
