SILVERTON, Oregon --- Marie C. Riveness, 93, died Saturday. She was born in Holmes, Iowa, and moved to Oregon with her parents in the early 1900s. She married Dan Riveness in 1929; he died in 1937. She was a homemaker and a cook in area schools and canneries. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was in the choir for more than 20 years. She also was a member of the Mothers Group Singers of the Silverton Schools PTA.

Survivors include her sons, Armand of Silverton, and DeLane of Lafayette, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Arrangements are by Unger mortuary. Contributions may be made to the church.
