Services for Mervin C. Carpenter, 70, of 1372 E. Fifteenth St will be at 9 am Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at the Cass Center Cemetery in Webster City. Mr. Carpenter, who died Wednesday of leukemia at University Hospitals in Iowa City after a six-month illness, was born in Woolstock and lived in Minnesota before moving to Des Moines 43 years ago. He was a chemical processor. Survivors include his wife, Jowan; two sons, Cary C. of Washington, D.C, and Martin L of Hartsville, SC.; three daughters, Mrs. Cleo L. Brennan of Norfolk, Va; Mrs. Deanna L. Cross of Chino, Calif, and Mrs. Dianna Ohland of Altoona; two brothers, Edward D. of Indianola and Virgil L. of Des Moines three sisters, Mrs. Fern E. Nott of Webster, Mrs. Fae G. Keast and Mrs. Mildred G. Hart, both of Des Moines; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
