Shirley Jean Krauss (Leemaster) Hall, 67, of Hereford, Colorado, passed away May 1, 2019 at her home after a valiant fight against ovarian cancer.

Shirley was born May 9, 1951 in Belmond, Iowa to Elmer and Eunice Krauss. She was the youngest of three children, born and raised on a farm in northern Iowa. She taught 1st and 2nd grades at Solomon Lutheran School in Woodville, Ohio for 1½ years. There is where she met her husband to be, Dale Leemaster. After marrying in Iowa on July 27, 1974, they settled in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming where they operated a farm and ranch. Shirley found employment at the Pine Bluffs Post, the local newspaper office, for the next seven years. She then went to work for the Rural Electric Company, now High West Energy, for 36 years.

Shirley was a member of the Pine Bluffs Saddle Club, Trail Days Committee, Pine Bluffs Heritage Society, Texas Trail Market Board, UMW Evening Circle, United Methodist Loy Lough Hand Bell Choir, women’s bowling league, and played for the melodrama for many years. She served in music ministry at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church from 1973 to present. She also provided music in several surrounding area churches as well as volunteering at the local high school for concerts and festivals.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hall, Jr. of Hereford, CO; a sister, Evelyn Hopf (Marv) of Orient, IA; a niece, Denise Ackerlund (Aaron) of Madrid, IA; stepdaughters, Debbie McCann (Dennis) of Cheyenne and Cindy Kern (Ron) of Fostoria, OH; stepsons, Danny Hall (Lauren) of Greeley, CO and Ronnie Hall of Grand Junction, CO; niece by marriage, Crystal Hopf; and grandchildren; great-grandchildren; cousins; great-nieces; and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Dale Leemaster; mother, Eunice Krauss; father, Elmer Krauss; stepmother, Martha (Bjornson) Krauss; infant brother, Paul Krauss; and nephew, Brian Hopf.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 1019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A memory service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church. An interment service will follow at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church, Carpenter United Methodist Church or Pine Bluffs Heritage Society.
