EATON, INDIANA - Harold F. Layman, 83, 511 Lincoln St., died Saturday morning in Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, after a brief illness. Mr. Layman was born in Woolstock, Iowa, and had resided in Elliott and Champaign, Ill. He is a 1928 graduate of the University of Illinois. He retired from Commonwealth Edison Co., Chicago, in 1969 after 42 years of service. He was a member of Agape Fellowship Ministry of Muncie and The Optomist Club, Harlingen, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Claudia (Stewart) Layman; five daughters, Janet Calkins, Cheyenne, Wyo., Joan Hoehn, Marshfield, Wis., Joy Torelli, Potomac, Md., Barbara Younce, Rochester, and Diane Brown, Eaton; a son, Walter Stewart, California; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services are pending at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home.
