Oscar Melbourne Gunderson, 81, Indianapolis, died Friday at his home. Private services are planned. There will be no calling. He had been a county highway engineer for the Wayne County, Mich., road commissioners, retiring after 25 years. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a life member of the Institute of Traffic Engineers. He served in the Army during World War II. attaining the rank of colonel. Born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, he lived in Indianapolis several months. Survivors: wife, Lillian Elliott Gunderson; daughter, Jean Hansen; five grandchildren.
