Rites Held For Former Resident

A former Rapid City resident, Ivil Bodine of St. Charles died in a Burke hospital July 29. Services were held Aug. 3 in the St. Charles Methodist Church. Burial was in the Naper (Neb.) Cemetery. He was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, Feb. 2, 1899, and as a young man worked with his parents for the Chicago and North Western Railroad. He was educated at Philip and Pierre. During World War I he served in the Army in England. He served between February and December of 1918. Bodine married Goldie Mae Bennett at O' Neill, Neb.. May 3, 1947, and the couple moved to St. Charles about 18 years ago. He carried mail between St. Charles and Naper, Neb. Living in Rapid City for some 10 years, prior to his marriage, Bodine worked at the Warren Lamb mill and also did some bartering. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 8256 at Naper and a member of the American Legion Post at Herrick.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter. Mrs. George D. (Loretta) Winslow of Everett, Wash.; a daughter. Mrs. William (Loyce) Anderson, by a previous marriage, in San Francisco, a brother, Russell of Rapid City and three grandchildren.
