During her time in Mason City and until her marriage in recent years, the deceased was widely known as Carrie V. A. Lucas. It was under this by-line that she wrote a series of news stories which resulted in a spectacular revival of the square dance at Mason City's armory back in the 20s.

Although born in Kansas City, Mrs. Anderson's life was mostly spent in Iowa, first in Wright county, then in Mason City and more latterly, after shorter periods of residence in Henry county, Ia., and southern California, back in Wright county.

Survivors include her husband, her sons, Carlyle of Canada, Max of Burbank, Cal., Don of Los Angeles, her daughters, Betty Prouty of Los Angeles and Lois of Santa Cruz, Cal., her stepsons William Anderson of Richmond, Cal., Earl Anderson of Goldfield and Curtis Anderson of Holmes, and 3 brothers, Frank Vaughn, Kansas City, Kans., George Vaughn, Elgin, and Louis Vaughn of Holmes.
