December 13, 1904 ---- May 21, 1983

HELEN PAINE BENNETT, 78, passed away Saturday in a local hospital. Born in Eagle Grove. Iowa, she had been a resident of El Paso nearly 50 years. She graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio; took additional training from the Childrens Hospital in Columbus, Ohio; and had been a school nurse with the Ysleta Independent School District tor eighteen years. She was a member of Valley Congregational Church, the Ysleta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, P.E.O. Chapter D., Lower Valley, Woman's Club, and Alpha Chi Omega.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by a son, William R. (Bob) Bennett, Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Barbara J. Beardsley, Las Vegas, Nevada; another daughter Harriet B. May, El Paso; a brother; E. H. Paine, Eagle Grove. Iowa; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at Martin Chapel, Rev. James E. Fredette officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ames Bradish, Fred Cross, Martin Dickinson, Carl Gnauck, Steve Lacy, and John Paine. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth Grob Scholarship Fund, C/O Ysleta Teachers Federal Credit Union, 975 Lomaland, El Paso, Texas, 79907. Arrangements by Martin. 3839 Montana.
