SANTA PAULA, Calif. - Verna K. Hamm, 83, formerly of Salem, died in Santa Paula on Oct. 19. She was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and worked as a housekeeper at a Salem hospital for four years. Survivors include her husband, Leonard; daughter, Mildred Teigland of Santa Paula; sisters, Dorothy Kiger and Margie Foreman, both of Tieton, Wash.; and brother, Milo Kiger of Tieton. Services were held on Oct. 22 in Santa Paula Cemetery. Skillin-Carroll mortuary handled the arrangements.
