Lyle L. Middleton, 64, former Eagle Grove resident, died Tuesday morning at his home in Webster City. He had been in ill health the past six months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral home, Webster City, with the Rev. S. W. Cunningham officiating and with burial in, Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.

Lyle Lansford Middleton, son of J. C. and Frances Allen Middleton, was born Jan. 2, 1907, near Eagle Grove. He was reared and educated in that community.

He was united in marriage Sept. 16, 1926 to Mildred K. Klein, and the couple made their home in Eagle Grove, moving to Webster City in 1929, where he was employed for several years at Middleton Produce. He entered the U.S. service in 1943 and saw active duty in the South Pacific Islands.

Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to Webster City and was employed as a mechanic at the Miller Motor Service. He later acquired the business and operated it until he retired in 1969.

He is survived by his wife; one brother, Lee Middleton of Webster City; one sister, Mrs. Clyde (Frances) Eppard of East St. Louis, Ill.
