November 20, 1877 --- August 17, 1956

GARBER, OKLAHOMA, Aug. 17 --- Services for Mrs. Vera Thorp Boroff, 78, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Garber Christian church withn Anderson Funeral home in charge. She died Friday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Jack Lafferty, following a stroke. Mrs. Boroff was born and reared in Wright county, Iowa, and had taught school there. In 1901 she came to Oklahoma with her parents, settling on a farm northeast of Garber. She was the first public school teacher in Garber, teaching until 1918 when she retired. She was a member of the Garber Christian church. She had been recorder, since 1921, of the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include two brothers, V. V. and Lloyd Thorp both of Garber; four children, Mrs. Norman Strain, Delta, Colo.; Fred Boroff, New Mexico, Kirk Boroff, Texas; and R. E. Boroff, Enid.
