Lida Eliza Ellen Grinnell
May 18, 1846 --- June 17, 1888

The distressing news reached this city [Eagle Grove, Iowa] Monday morning last that Mrs. Elliott, wife of Rev. F. Elliott, was dead. She was stopping with relatives at Des Moines, having gone there a few weeks since in feeble health with hopes that the change of scene and perfect quiet would greatly benefit her. But it was not to be. It seems she had been gradually failing, and Sunday morning at 6 o'clock passed peacefully away. Mrs. Elliott leaves a husband and six children (one a young babe) in the greatest distress at their irreparable loss. Mr. Elliott and daughter, Clara, went to Des Moines as soon as possible Monday, the funeral services taking place in that city from the residence of Mr. E. Grinnell, Mrs. E.'s brother.

It is with great regret that we announce the death at Des Moines last Monday of Mrs. Elliott, wife of Rev. Elliott. The lady has been ill for sometime, but so serious a termination was not looked for. All who know the worthy gentleman will extend sympathy to Rev. Elliott.
