Albert Warland was born in Badger, Iowa on December 25, 1912, the son of Bert and Annie (Thompson) Warland. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. On September 23, 1939, Albert was united in marriage with Fern E. Bloomquist at Fort Dodge. She preceded him in death on October 9, 1976. They made their home in Eagle Grove. Albert helped farm the Wilcox farm southwest of Eagle Grove in Troy Township and then the H. Shipman farm. He went to work for Christensen Motors and later farmed for H. Christensen. In 1958, Albert went to work as a tire man for Umthun Trucking, retiring in 1975. Albert also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Mr. Warland passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at USA Health Care in Clarion, attaining the age of 90 years. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Fern; daughters, Janet Huffman and Eldora Zimmerman; brothers, Orville and Duane and sisters, Phyllis and Dorothy. Survivors include three daughters: Shirley Ford of Eagle Grove, Alberta Anderson of Sidney, IA and Barbara "Jeannie" Wenzl of Bellevue, NE; a sister, Eldora Bowie of Norwalk, IA; 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
