Charles R. "Charlie" Johnson, 59, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at his home. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Charles Ray Johnson was born April 15, 1954, in Belmond, Iowa, son of Maurice and Alice E. Dickson Johnson. He married MaryLou Jeskie in September 1987 in Rock Island. Charlie served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to being disabled, he was employed at Doug's Heating, Moline. He loved the outdoors, barbecuing and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Surviving are his daughter, LynnAnn Smith Cook and her husband, Joe, Rock Island; son, Joseph C. Johnson, Moline; granddaughter, Airianni Cook; and his sister, Mary Pfieffer, LaCrosse, Wis. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents.
