OBITUARY

Mrs. Francis Geiger Yenck
(By Rev W. G. Muhleman)

Francis Geiger was born Dec. 24, 1840, in Alsace Loraine, Germany. In 1872 she came to America and settled in St. Louis, Mo. She stayed there for one year and then was married to Adam Yenck. They moved to Taylorville, Ill., where they live on the farm till the death of Mr. Yenck. Three children were born to this union Mrs. Elmer Curtis of Washington Springs, S. D.; Nicholas Yenck of Vincent, Iowa, and Mrs. Cornelius Dunkel of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Ten years ago Mrs. Yenck came to live with her daughter in Eagle Grove. For the past eight years she has been in failing health. She quietly passed away on the morning of Sunday, April 13, 1924, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 19 days.

Mrs. Yenck has been a Christian from her early youth and the habits formed in early youth stayed with her till the very last, for in spite of ill health she never ceased to pray.

She leaves to mourn, her three children and nine grand children.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter at 321 South Park avenue, with W. G. Muhleman in charge. The body was placed to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.

December 24, 1840 – April 13, 1924
