Francis Frakes Dies Monday Afternoon

Francis Frakes died Monday afternoon at John McDermott's apartment. Francis had been in failing health for many years, but his last illness lasted but a few hours. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from Sacred Heart church with burial in Calvary cemetery.

Obituary

Francis E. Frakes was born Jan. 12, [January 2] 1912, to Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Frakes in Woolstock, Iowa. His mother died when Francis was six weeks of age, and his father died on Jan. 14, 1933. Francis came here with his father when a small boy and attended Sacred Heart school. He has been employed in Eagle Grove until his health failed. Death was the result of complications resulting from diabetes. He died on Monday, Sept. 19, at the age of 26 years, 9 months and 17 days. He is survived by two brothers, John Frakes of this city, Harold Frakes of Goldfield; two sisters, Mrs. Geo. L. Townsend of Chokio. Minn., and Miss Loretta Frakes of Webster City.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from the Sacred Heart church. Requiem high mass was sung by the pastor, Rev. Father Molloy. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr and Mrs. Geo. L. Townsend and E. H. Townsend of Chokio, Minn.; Mrs. Nick Nilles of Duncombe; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Frakes and daughter, Evelyn, Mrs. Anna Bain, Chas. Frakes, Ted Frakes and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Frakes of Woolstock; Mr. and Mrs. Joe McDonald, of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Penfield of Clarion; Chas. Nilles of Gilmore City; Mrs. Gordon Merrill and Mrs. Wm. Nilles, Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fetrow of Clare, Mrs. Robert Finch of Fort Dodge.
