Double Funeral Held for Long Bros.
Funeral services for James H. Long were held Thursday morning at Sacred Heart church in charge
of the pastor, the Rev. Father Molloy. The remains were taken to Elgin, Ill., for interment. The day
following Mr. Long's death, his brother, John Long, died at his home in Elgin, Ill., after a lingering illness.

A double funeral was held at 9:30 Saturday morning at St. Mary's church in Elgin, Ill., for the two brothers and burial was made in the family lot at Bluff City cemetery.

Obituary
James Henry Long, born in South Elgin, Ill., Dec. 14, 1863, died Tuesday, June 13, 1933, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 29 days, death having come unexpectedly. He was united in marriage with Mary Smith who with his daughter, Helen, preceded him in death. He came to Eagle Grove in 1885,
where he entered the service of the Chicago Northwestern Railway Co., which he served faithfully for 48 years. He ranked senior on the service list. He was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart church, a charter member of the Eagle Grove Council of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for 42 years.

Surviving him are his son, Dr. J. E. Long and grandson, John James. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock from Sacred Heart church. The deceased was taken to Elgin, Ill., to the home of his brother, John F. Long, who died Wednesday, June 14. Double funeral services were held Saturday at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's church with burial in the family lot in Bluff City cemetery.
