Robert James Doyle was born July 7, 1917, at Eagle Grove, the son of Robert Edmond Doyle, III, and Alice Christensen Doyle. He was educated in St. Joseph's Parochial School, Chicago, Ill., and Campion High School, Prairie Du Chien, Wis. Robert entered the U. S. Army in 1941, serving in the European conflict. He retired from the service, and lived in Los Angeles, Calif.

Robert Doyle died on July 3, 1988 [in Los Angeles, California] at the age of 71 years, and four days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Roger B. Doyle. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Roger Doyle, Kansas City, Mo.; four nephews, Roger C. Doyle, McLean, Va., David R. Doyle, Atlanta, Ga.; Michael Doyle, Tulsa, Okla.; and Douglas Doyle, Detroit, Mich; and a cousin, John Doyle, DeLand, Fla.

Graveside services for Robert J. Doyle were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Paul Schaedig, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove, officiating.
