Harold Stanley Madson was born on November 6, 1913, at Goldfield, Iowa, to Hans Peter (Pete) and Nellie Wambsel Madson. He attended school in the Corwith and LuVerne, Iowa, area. On December 21, 1938, he was united in marriage to Margaret Harmon in Webster City, Iowa. They made their home in the Renwick and Hardy, Iowa, area, and later moving to Eagle Grove, Iowa in 1952. He retired from the Carnation Milk Company in 1971. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Teamsters Union.

Harold S. Madson died January 4, 2001, at Clarion, Iowa, at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, Eagle Grove; one daughter, Lois McIver, Webster City; two sons, Stan Madson, and wife, Donna, Eagle Grove, and Jim Madson, Eagle Grove; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Madson, and wife, Ardythe, Des Moines, Iowa; four sisters, Nadean Griffin, Webster City, Freda Hudson, Denver, Colo., Nel Stafford, and husband, Elgin, Spokane, Wash., and Phyllis Hill, and husband, Harold, Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Robert Lloyd Madson; and, two sisters, Hazel Glemmestad and Ruth Stafford.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 8, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father David Beckman officiating. Burial was held in the Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
