OBITUARY OF MRS. GEORGE HOWELL.

Anna Flannery was born at DeWitt, Clinton County, Iowa, May 24, 1867. She died at her home at Sterling, Illinois, February 7, 1916. The funeral services were held Saturday morning, February 12th at Sacred Heart church, Eagle Grove, and the burial was in Calvary cemetery. The Sacred Heart choir furnished the music at the service and Rev. Father Nolan assisted by the deceased lady's nephew, Father John Howell, was in charge of the funeral services.

Anna Flannery and George Howell were united in marriage at Eagle Grove, Iowa, October 20, 1892. To this union six children were born, four of whom survive, two dying in infancy. Those who survive the mother are, Esther, George, Harold and Naomi, all of whom are living at the home at Sterling. The husband, George Howell, her father, Peter Flannery survive and also her sister, Mrs. John Donegan of Denver; Wm. Flannery of Eagle Grove, John Flannery and Charles Flannery. Her mother died June 27, 1885.

She moved to Peoria, Ill., about two years ago and last year to Sterling, Ill., a point more convenient to Mr. Howell, who is running an engine out of that town.

Mrs. Howell had been in good health until attacked by a cancer about three years ago. She recovered entirely from the effects of an operation to remove this cancer, but for the sudden attack of her last illness, had every prospect of enjoying many more years with her family.

She was an ideal mother, a loving wife and a loyal true friend. The entire community extends the sorrowing relatives their sincere sympathy in the hour of their great loss.

The following tribute paid her by a D. of I. of which order the deceased was an honored member, is but a token of the high regard in which she was held by the entire community.
