GAIL FRANKLIN COLLICOTT

Gail Franklin, the son of Fred and Janet Hamilton Collicott was born at Lanesboro, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in the Lanesboro area. On Jan. 5, 1938, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Clark at Lohrville, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived in Lohrville, Des Moines, Omaha and in 1947, the family moved to Eagle Grove. He was a truck driver for the Umthun Trucking Company for 18 years, until his health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. For several years he was a baseball player with the Lohrville Tigers baseball team.

Mr. Collicott died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 2, 1983, at his home in Eagle Grove, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Eagle Grove; a daughter, Kay Collicott of Omaha; a son, Dwight and his wife, Linda Collicott of Eagle Grove; four grandchildren, Tami, Teri, Curt and Christian Collicott, all of Eagle Grove; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lloyd.

Funeral services for Gail F. Collicott, were held on Saturday, Feb. 5, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. Cecil McSweeney was the celebrant and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held on Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
