Viola McPherson was born at Indian Springs, Ind. August 15, 1878. She attended school at Nora Springs and then taught for a number of years. Three years ago they moved to Roswell, N.M., where she lived till the time of her death.

She passed away March 1, 1923, having reached the age of 44 years, 6 months and 16 days. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs Varnell: Glen, aged 20, Marion, aged 13 and Florence who died June 1, 1919. Mrs. Yarnell joined the church when quite young and while she was in Roswell she transferred her membership to the Christian church of that place. In addition to the children already mentioned she leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, her father, Marion McPherson, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Phelps, of Garber, Okla. and Mrs. Laura Inners of Goldfield, Iowa, and one brother, John McPherson.

Funeral services were held from the home of her father at 322 North Commercial avenue, Eagle Grove, Iowa. The services were in charge of Rev. W G. Muhleman, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
