Emma Marilla Zinser Yon
23 January 1873 ---- 3 August 1958

Mrs. Emma Yon was born January 23, 1873 at Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Later the family moved to Ohio, and still later to Elpaso, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. On October 16, 1895 she was married to John T. Yon. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Yon. They were Alpha J., Wyatt L., J. Paul, and Beth Catherine.

In 1907 the family moved to Eagle Grove where they engaged in farming until 1920 when they retired and moved to Eagle Grove where she has since made her home. Mrs. Yon has been a member of the Methodist Church for 65 years, and she was sincerely devoted to the church and was active in its organizational work, taking part in Sunday School class 16, in the Woman's Society of Christian Service. Also, she took an active part in the work of the W.C.T.O. to which she was very loyal. Her devotion to her family and her constant care for their welfare has been evident to all who knew her.

Mrs. Yon died at the Storm Lake Hospital on Aug 3rd. She is survived by one son, Wyatt L. Yon; nine grandchildren: and 18 great grandchildren and by her sister, Lottie L. Zinser. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Abraham J. Zinser.
