KEITH M. VOIGT

Keith Marion Voigt was born on September 22, 1923, on a farm near Iowa Falls, Iowa, to August and Luella Nolte Voigt. He was raised and educated in Iowa Falls, graduating from Iowa Falls High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was united in marriage with Veloise "Dottie" Nolte at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, on April 22, 1944. He was the general manager for the Iowa Falls Coop from 1946 to 1959. They then moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he was the general manager of the Boone Valley Coop until his retirement in 1981. He then served as director of Farmland Industries in Kansas City, Mo. and was also director of Nationwide Insurance Board for seven years. He served on the Board of Directors of Brenton Bank, was director of the Propane Coop in Eagle Grove, and was very active in the Eagle Grove community with the Chamber of Commerce, Eagle Grove Development, American Legion, a 47-year member of the Elks Lodge, a 50-year member of the Rotary Club, was also supportive of various school activities and the Boy Scout Council. He served a number of capacities and was very instrumental in the growth and development of Eagle Grove. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church and served several offices within the church.

Keith M. Voigt died Thursday, July 22, 1999, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 75.

He is survived by his wife, Veloise "Dottie;" two daughters, Claudia Olson and husband, Paul, Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Vicky Gilmore, and husband, Ken, Sparta, Ill.; one son, Merle Voigt and wife, Valinda, Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Francis Voigt, Hampton, Iowa; and two sisters, Rosemary Rieber and Miriam Off, Iowa Falls, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John, and wife, Dorreen; and a brother, Laverne.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 26, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Reverend William E. Ballard officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, with military honors by the Eagle Grove American Legion and VFW.

Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
