H. MIDDLETON FUNERAL RITES HELD MONDAY

Well Known Troy Township Farmer Passed Away at His Home on Friday, July 5

Homer Middleton, 54, died at his home in Troy township, Friday, July 5, after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. C. W. Tompkins officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Homer Middleton was born October 28, 1891, at Eagle Grove, Iowa. He lived with his parents on the old home place in Troy township until his marriage to Evelyn Lena Vike on August 12, 1916. To their home there were born three children, Elwood, Darlene, and Jack.

He moved onto the farm after his marriage where he spent his entire married life of 30 years.

He was a faithful member of the Troy Methodist church where he was janitor for some time. Later he united with the Methodist church in Eagle Grove with his family on Palm Sunday, 1945. He had helped in the building of the Eagle Grove Methodist church.

He was patient in the face of ill health and cheerful to the very end, which came July 5, 1946, at his home.

He leaves his wife, children, grandchildren Dwight and Greg, sisters Mrs. Glen McVicker of Hampton, Mr. Roy McVlcker of Boulder, Colo. Mrs. Clyde Eppard of East St. Louis, Ill., and brothers Lyle of Webster City, Lee of Mason City, Guy of Clarion and his father and mother of Eagle Grove, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Mlddleton.
