Former Eagle Grove Resident Brought Here for Burial Funeral Wednesday Morning.
Mrs. Mary Klinger died at the home of her daughter in Hartley, Sunday, Oct. 12. The remains were brought to the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home in Eagle Grove Monday and the funeral services were held in Sacred Heart church Wednesday morning. Interment was by the side of her husband in Calvary cemetery.
Obituary
Mary Neugirg was born in Bremen, Germany, March 28, 1873. She came to the United States with her parents, Henry and Eva Neuglrg in 1890. They located in Belle Plaine. Two years later they moved to Chicago where she was united in marriage with Herman Klinger. They lived in Chicago, Belle Plaine and later on moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Klinger died in 1900. Mrs. Klinger continued to make a home here for herself and her five children. Her son, Adolph Klinger died in 1916. She continued to live in Eagle Grove until 1925 when she moved to Mason City and later to Hartley, where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Harmona Martens. She had many trials but remained steadfast through them all and faithful to her home, her community and her church.
Four children survive Mrs. Klinger. They are: Charles Klinger, Ft. Dodge; Mrs. Anna Prendergast, Sac City; Mrs. Rose Naughton, Pocahontas; Mrs. Harmona Martens, Hartley. She is also survived by three brothers, John Neugirg, who lives in Germany; Michael Neugirg, Baltimore, Md.; Joseph Neugirg, Eagle Grove. There are three surviving sisters, Elizabeth McDermott, Eagle Grove; Edith Dunlavey, Mason City; Lena Woods, Joseph, Mo.
The many friends of the surviving relatives in this community extend their sincerest sympathy in the hour of their great affliction.
