Lucien Constant Vilmain was born the son of Leon and Josephine Lejal Vilmain, on July 27, 1901, in La Petit Roan, France. He died on Tuesday afternoon, July 15,1980, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge after an extended illness. He attained the age of 78 years, 11 months and 18 days.

He came to the United States with his parents in 1902 and settled in the Wall Lake area. Later, the family moved to North Dakota for a few years and then to Eagle Grove. He was married to Gladys Cory at Eagle Grove. Lucien lived most of his life in Perry and was in the Commercial Refrigeration business. He retired and moved back to Eagle Grove in 1970. He had been ill for the past year. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove.

He is survived by three brothers: George and Richard Vilmain both of Eagle Grove and Francis Vilmain of Cedar Falls; one sister, Sister Georgine Vilmain of Mobile, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, a brother, Raymond and two sisters: Mrs. Louise Thompson and Mrs. Amelia Salminen.

Funeral services for Lucien C. Vilmain were held on Friday, July 18, 1980 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. Cecil B. McSweeney of Clarion officiated and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery at Eagle Grove. The Rosary service was held on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
