Allen M. Irwin passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 1979 in the Belmond Care Center at the age of 93 years. Allen had been ill and hospitalized for about three weeks. He had only been at the Care Center for about one week before his death.

Allen was born April 11, 1886, in Clay City, Ill., to George and Emma Hasselton Irwin.

Allen became united in marriage to Hattie YoungLove Keleher on March 29, 1944 in Fort Dodge. They made their home in Eagle Grove. Allen worked at the Boone Valley Coop for a time then did farming around Eagle Grove. In December of 1977 Allen and Hattie moved to the Clarion Care Center. Hattie became ill and passed away July 29,1979 and Allen became ill and was hospitalized. After he left the hospital, he went to the Belmond Care Center.

Those who mourn his death are his stepson, Gordon Keleher, Independence, Mo.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and his wife Hattie.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, 1979, 2 p.m. at Kastler Babcock De Young Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Carl Jensen officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
