Funeral rites for William Igou, who died Wednesday morning were held Friday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home. Rev. Harry Throckmorton, pastor of the Baptist church had charge of the services and the I.O.O.F. Lodge gave their burial services. Interment was In Rose Hill cemetery.
William Oscar Igou, son of Henry and Almarla Lakin Igou was born near Ellsworth, Iowa, August 20, 1878 and died in the hospital at Primghar, Iowa, November 27, 1945 at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 7 days.
William grew to manhood in the vicinity of Ellsworth, Iowa where he made himself numerous friends.
On October 17, 1905 he was united in marriage to Florence Zerelda Tatham. To this union one son, Robert, was born.
Thirty-five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Igou moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa where Mr. Igou entered the services of the Chicago & North Western Railroad. He was still in the employment of this company at the time of his death.
Last Tuesday morning he left on his run, in good spirits but while taking water for the locomotive at Paullina, Iowa, he collapsed. Medical aid was summoned and he was rushed to the hospital at Primghar where the end came in a short period of time.
Mr. Igou was a good workman, a pleasant neighbor and a kind husband. He was a member of the local Odd Fellows Lodge and also held membership in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman and Enginemen.
His parents, his son Robert, and one sister, Minnie, have preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Florence Igou, one brother O. D. Igou of Dows, Iowa, two nephews, Orin Igou of Chicago, Illinois, James Igou, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
