Olive Hopkey, 100, died Jan. 29, 2019 at Country Manor Care Facility in La Mesa, California. A celebration of life will be held Feb. 15 at Grace Lutheran Church in San Diego, CA.

Olive was born June 12, 1918 to Henry and Bertha Nelson of Belmond. She graduated from Belmond High School in 1935. Olive was always smiling, and she loved singing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sisters Arlene Nelson-Steel and Lucille Nelson-Gourley; and brother Herbert Nelson. She leaves behind her sister Helen Nelson-Pratt of Des Moines; sons Arthur (Saralynn) Hopkey of Alpine, CA, Keith (Jackie) Hopkey of Las Vegas, NV, and Dean (Rudy) Hopkey of La Mesa, CA, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
