Earl Parker, 83, Woolstock, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 15, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 18, at 3:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City, Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Center Cemetery north of Webster City. Visitation at the funeral home is after 5 p.m. today until time of service.
Thurlow Earl Parker, son of James and Ellen (Sinclaire) Parker, was born Oct. 27, 1907 on a farm near West Plains, Mo. He attended rural schools in the area. He served with the U.S. Navy, and was a truck driver and a farmer. He married Virtie [headstone says Freda] Warbington on April 28, 1934 in West Plaines. In 1954, the couple moved to the Woolstock/Eagle Grove area where Mr. Parker was employed at several farms in the area. He was preceded in death by his wife in January 1970.
He is survived by two daughters and a son, Margie (Mrs. Gerald) Nickles and Geraldine Fortune, both of Woolstock, and Harry Parker, Fort Dodge; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, James Parker, Gravis Mills, Mo.; Orval Parker, Kingston, Texas; Richard Parker of Colorado; Florence Martin and Mabel Parker, both of Portland, Ore. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a granddaughter, his parents, a half-brother and two sisters.
