Lucile Christian was born on May 13, 1901 at Blairstown, Iowa. She later moved to Eagle Grove. On Dec. 25, 1918 she was united in marriage with Morris E. Christian at Eagle Grove. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where Mr. Christian worked for the railroad and to this union were born seven children. Mr. Christian died on Nov. 25, 1969. Lucile continued to live in Eagle Grove until June of 1983 when she became a resident of the Clarion Care Center. She was a long-time member of the Church of the Open Bible in Eagle Grove and the Women's Railroad Club.
She died April 30, 1984 at the Clarion Care Center at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 17 days.
She is survived by two daughters: Rose, Mrs. Wayne Read of Eagle Grove; Gladys, Mrs. Carlos Dokken of Aurora, Ill.; three sons: Morris N. Christian of Webster City; Duane Christian of Cedar Rapids and Jerry Christian of Aurora, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Donald and James; a sister, Iola Severson; and a brother, Robert Clark; and a great great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucile Christian of Eagle Grove were held on Wednesday, May 2, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Open Bible in Eagle Grove. Dr. Lloyd W. Meyer, D.D. officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
