Wm. Gross rites Saturday P.M.

Funeral services for William Gross will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marvin Berkeland officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Gross, 71, died Wednesday at Trinity Hospital, Fort Dodge. He had been in failing health for some time.

Survivors include his wife, three sons: David, Danny and Stephen all of Eagle Grove; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Edward Gross of Eagle Grove and three sisters: Mrs. Arthur Wiggins, Clarion; Mrs. Arthur Orum, Carthage, Ill. and Mrs. Henry Hanson, Edina, Minn.

Mr. Gross was a life long resident of this community and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gross. He was married to Leona Smith of Eagle Grove in 1934 and they have farmed north east of Eagle Grove for many years. He retired from active farming in 1970 but Mr. and Mrs. Gross and Stephen continued to live at their farm home.

William Kelton Gross, the son of Charles and Verna Pickering Gross, was born April 27, 1906 northwest of Eagle Grove.

He attended the Eagle Grove Public School.

On October 3, 1934, he was married to Leona Smith of Eagle Grove at Pocahontas, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm northeast of Eagle Grove. Bill retired in 1970.

Bill died Wednesday, June 29, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 2 days.

Survivors include his wife, Leona; three sons: David Gross, Eagle Grove; Danny Gross, Eagle Grove; Stephen Gross, Eagle Grove; one brother, Ed Gross, Eagle Grove; three sisters: Mary (Mrs. Arthur) Wiggins, Clarion; Margaret (Mrs. Arthur) Orum, Carthage, Ill.; Dorothy (Mrs. Henry) Hanson, Edina, Minn.; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sandra Gross, a grandson, Patrick Gross, and a sister, Verna Gross.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 2 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Marvin Berkeland officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
