Viola J. Anderson, 83, Webster City, formerly of Kanawha, died Sunday, April 11, 1999 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Kanawha Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Sievers officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Ewing Dugger Funeral Chapel in Kanawha and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Burial will take place at Norway Township Cemetery in Kanawha.

Viola Peterson, daughter of Olaf and Annie Pedersen Petersen, was born January 22, 1916 in Good Thunder, MN. She moved to Gilbert with her family where she attended school and graduated from Gilbert High School. She married Virgil Anderson on July 30, 1935 in Story City. The couple made their home on a farm south and west of Kanawha for 48 years. In October of 1983, the couple moved to Webster City to spend the winter. Following her husband's death in 1984, she moved to Webster City.

Survivors are one son, Kenneth Anderson of Lake Cornelia, three daughters, Colleen Brower and Maylene Anderson, both of Webster City; Dawn Bartik, San Diego, CA., 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother, Irving Petersen of Gilbert, four sisters, Olga Cox, Mary Matters and Annabelle Rickerl, all of Gilbert, and Shirley Ann Cutright of Carmichael, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Ann, a sister, infant brother, great-grandson and a great-granddaughter. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church at rural Kanawha and was a member of the Ladies Aid.
