Marion Seamonds, 83, Webster City, died Monday, April 26, 1999 at his home. Mr. Seamonds was cremated and memorial services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery at a later date. The family requests that there be no flowers, and that memorials be directed to Kids with Special Needs in care of the Webster City school system or to the discretion of the family.

Marion Lynn Seamonds, son of Eugene and Margaret Wilkinson Seamonds, was born April 25, 1916 at Webster City. He graduated from Woolstock High School. On April 23, 1939 he married Beatrice Stilwell at Webster City. During WW II, he worked in Detroit in the production of B-52 Bombers at the Willow Run Navy Air Force Base. He graduated from the University of Southern California in Engineering in 1949. He worked at the Northrup Corporation as an engineer in quality control from 1950 to 1965. He worked for Northrup at Black Hills, SD at the Snark Missile sites for two years. He then went to work for Boeing Aerospace in Minneapolis until 1970. They moved to Webster City, where he worked at Franklin Manufacturing. In 1973, they moved to Forest City and he worked for Winnebago Industries as an engineer in quality control. Following his retirement in 1983, the couple returned to Webster City. His retirement afforded him time to become senior consultant and construction supervisor for projects including the Produce Station, Nick's Place-at the lake and the farm work.

Survivors are his wife, Beatrice, son and daughter-in-law, Don and Maureen Seamonds, grandchildren, Shawn Seamonds of Des Moines, Shelly and Bob Powers of Fort Collins, CO., and Nick Seamonds of Webster City; great-grandchildren, Sam and Ben Powers; honorary grandfather of the Chambers Family; sisters, Donna Tapavica, Webster City, Mildred Reed of Tulsa, OK., brother Bill Frakes of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Webster City Country Club, CSP Club, he served on the board for the North Central Human Services for the Disabled, the Kids Committee middle school planning, a volunteer supporter and worker for Special Olympics.

He was a golf volunteer for the high school teams and golf camp, and was a member of the Hole in One Club at the Webster City Country Club.
