Lester Laverne “Leaker” Elliott, Jr.
9 March 1946 ---- 25 August 2008

Lester "Leaker" Elliott was born March 9, 1946, in Webster City, Iowa to Helen Annetta (Wepel)and Lester Laverne Elliott, Sr. He passed away August 25, 2008 at his home in Creston. He was educated in Webster City and Greenfield schools. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 until 1967 during the Vietnam War. He worked with his father at their saw mill in Greenfield. On November 22, 1975, he married Karen Sue Matheny in Clearfield. On May 10, 1977 a son Lester Earl was born. He also ran his own trucking company.

In 1981, he moved to Clearfield, where he did trucking and owned and operated Leakers Lounge. He also operated Elliott Truck Repair. In 1993, he went to work for Max Smith Construction, moving to Creston in 1996. He retired due to health in 2003. After retiring he enjoyed helping Lester Earl race at the Adams County Speedway and spending winters with friends in Arizona. He was a member of the American Legion of Clearfield and Creston, the V.F.W. Post #1797 and the Eagles Lodge #1398, both in Creston.

Survivors include one son, Lester Elliott; 5 sisters, Esther Ramsey, Patsy Ahnen, Janet (Del) Kramersmeier, Ginger Thompson, Judy (Jimmy) Billingsley. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers-in-law; John Ahnen, Rufus Ramsey and Richard Thompson, Sr. and 1 niece, Mary Jane Thompson.
