Kathryn Larson, 78, a Holmes area native, died at the Clarion Care Center on Friday, morning, June 1, 1984. Funeral services were held from the Holmes Lutheran Church on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the Holmes Cemetery. Rev. Carlton J. Shaw was the officiant and the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Kathryn was born on a farm in Lake Township of Wright County on April 14, 1906 and was the daughter of Ole and Tillie Olson Larson. She was baptized and confirmed at Holmes Lutheran Church and was graduated from the Clarion High School in 1924. She then went to the Kahler Nursing School in Rochester, Minn, where she received her registered nursing degree in 1930. She had worked in Rochester except for a time when she returned home to care for her parents. After the death of her parents she returned and was a floor supervisor at the time of her retirement at age 63. In July of 1982 she came to Clarion to make her home at the care center. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Mary Stockdale of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Olga Lynch of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Laurence and Oscar and a sister, Anna Tysdal.

While living in Rochester she was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and had been active in the ladies groups of the church.
