Curtis Norem Funeral Friday
Funeral services for Curtis Norem, 52, formerly of Thor, will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Our Saviours Lutheran church in Humboldt. Burial will be in East Ullensvang cemetery at Thor. Mr. Norem died at his home in Humboldt Monday morning about 8 o'clock. He had a stroke about 1 a. m. from which he did not recover. Mr. Norem was born and reared at Thor, graduated from Eagle Grove High school in 1929 and attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, and in 1939 [March 4] was married to Florence Opheim at Thor. He was a former member of the Eagle Grove Community school board, when he was farming near Thor. Two years ago the Norems retired from the farm and moved to Humboldt to become a realtor and farm manager. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Dale a student at Iowa State University, Ames, and A/3c Roger who is stationed in England; four brothers and two sisters, Sigurd and Mrs. Ray Schulze of Los Angeles, Calif., Jan of Dallas, Tex., Kermit of Seattle, Wash., Howard of Des Moines, and Mrs. Emil Ekstrom of Woolstock.
