Obituary of Mrs. T. W. Land
Funeral services were held from the Baptist church at 3 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. for Mrs. Opal Land. Mrs. Halvorson of Goldfield, assisted by Rev. Overby, had charge of the services. Burial was made in Rosehlll cemetery. The following obituary was written by Rev. Overby:

Opal, second child of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Van Arsdale, was born in Palmyra, Ill., July 2, 1902 and departed this life June 14, 1931. Had she lived until July 2, she would have been 29 years old. Some nine years ago she came to Iowa with her family and has made her home in Wright county since that time. In August, 1919 she was married to Evert Manning and to this union one daughter was born. Then on Jan. 17, 1924 she was married to Willard Land and to this union two children were
born, the youngest passing away in infancy, leaving to mourn her passing, besides her son and daughter, her father, mother, one sister and six brothers all of Eagle Grove, and vicinity with many other relatives and friends. In the winter of 1929 under the preaching of Miss Heefner, she
professed faith in Christ and was baptized into membership of this church by Rev. E. A. Anderson.
Opal remained loyal to her profession, and to her Christ, and during the 14 months of her intense
suffering, she was very patient and bore it with Christian fortitude. She expressed herself as being ready to go and meet her God.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Al Arnold of Springfield, Frank Van Arsdale, Mrs. Clyde Stone, Opal Batty, of Girard, Ill., and Evert Manning and Ray Land of Detroit, Mich.
