(By Rev. Eaton)
Charles Hazeman was born in Alsace Lorraine, France, Nov. 25, 1865, and died Friday, June 12, being 65 years, 6 months and 17 days old. He came to this country with his parents in July, 1872 and located near Leland, Ill. In September of the same year the family moved near Woolstock where he grew to young manhood. He was united in marriage to Christina Augustine, Oct. 22, 1900. They came to Eagle Grove in 1901 and have made this their home since that time. He was baptized in the Lutheran church in France during his early childhood. His wife preceded him in death on June 22, 1930. During her many weeks of illness, Mr. Hazeman faithfully cared for her with tender kindness which was so characteristic of him. He was a great lover of his home.

He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, Louis, living at Leland, Ill., also other relatives and
friends. A short service was held in the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home after which the body was taken to the French church east of Woolstock where the funeral was held, conducted by Rev. J. G. Eaton, assisted by Rev. James Overby, pastor of the Baptist church, after which he was laid to rest in the French cemetery in the presence of a large number of friends and neighbors.
