June 7, 1866 --- July 20, 1946

Frederick L. Cooper was born June 7, 1866 to Charlotte and John Cooper, at Lee Center. At an early age he moved to the Paw Paw community. He was united in marriage to Catherine Grover, and to this union six children were born. He, with his family, moved to Dows. Ia. in 1904 where they farmed until February, 1926 when they moved back to Paw Paw. Mrs. Cooper passed away on the 23rd of December 1942. and since then he has been living alone, with occasional visits from his children. When his health permitted him to travel, he would spend some time in their homes. He was a great lover of children and was always happv to have some of his grandchildren with him. He had been in poor health for the past two years but most of the time was up and around and able to get down town. He leaves to mourn his death, four sons and two daughters; Wayne Cooper of Dows, Ia.: Roy Cooper of Latimer. Ia.; Will Cooper of Paw Paw. Ill.; George Cooper, of Alden. Ia.; Mrs. Mae Olson, of Iowa Falls. Ia..; and Mrs. Lottie Pippin, of Malta. Ill.: two sisters, Mrs. Esther Tuttle of Chandler, Okla.; and Mrs. Lottie Winter, of Ames. Ia. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He also leaves 25 grandchildren and 9 groat grandchildren, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Paw Paw Baptist church at 2:00 o'clock, with the Rev. C. A. Cornelius, officiating. Burial was in Wyoming cemetery.
